I'm acquiring a new tank and plan to merge it with my existing tank that hosts 2 percula clowns.

Can anyone identify these critters:

I'm guessing a brittlestar of some sort, a banded coral shrimp, and a brain coral?

My chief concern is compatability with the clowns. If there is any potential danger to them - the new guys have to go. Please advise if you think I might have a problem!

Many thanks,
Jeff

1 Brittle Starfish
2 Open Brain Coral with what looks like some Aptaisia around it!
Shouldn't be any probs for the fish. But If those are Aptaisia anemonies around that coral you should think about removing them.

I agree with the above IDs. However, the question is, do you already have corals? And do you have enough lighting for the brain coral?

If the tank is a FOWLR, then I would not worry about the apstasia, as they can be a good thing. That is, if you don't mind their appearance. Apstasia are great nitrate reducers. Yes, they will filter and remove the nitrates. They do have a powerful sting, but your fish will leave them alone, unless you get a fish that relishes them, like a copper banded butterfly. Its all a personal preference.

Thanks Hishheadfred and Acidrain...
Actually the tank is full of aiptasia. My plan is to salvage as much of the rock as possible while removing the aiptasia on the rocks I keep.

As for lighting, the new tank (60g) has 4x55W(room for 2 more bulbs too) so it should be fine (especially once I clean it all up).

Here's another picture that shows the coral banded shrimp (upper right corner): http://groups.msn.com/JeffsSaltwaterAquarium/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=34

I'm a bit worried about the clowns. I've read that some varieties of brittlestar and coral banded shrimp are fish eaters. How to tell?

Thanks,
Jeff

nah, they will never be able to catch the clowns. I would not worry to much about that.
