![]() | Inline heater or in-tank heater? |
kmpaton![]() Hobbyist Posts: 91 Kudos: 75 Votes: 36 Registered: 26-Feb-2005 ![]() ![]() | Im setting up a FOWLR tank and was thinking about the Hydor inline heater to hookup to my Eheim 2213. Or I was thinking of the Marineland Stealth in tank instead. The money I would save on the intank heater would go towards my AquaC Remora Skimmer. Its for a 29gal tank so it isnt that big and the additional powerhead should have good circulation. Comments? Kyle Last edited by kmpaton at 14-Jul-2005 11:52 |

I dont personally know anyone who uses it, but the only benefit I really see is a spacesaver. On my 100 gallon system I have two 250 watt Ebo-Jager heaters. I keep them in my sump because I feel it takes away from the natural beauty of the reef if you see them in the main display. ![]() ![]() For heater brands personally I've had the best luck with Tronics and the Ebos. I would have done Tronics on my reef tank (thats how much I trust them) but their largest model is 200 watts. Just my opinion, HTH a bit... -Ferret -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |

I have had it for maybe 5 months now and no problems whatsoever. It is connected to my eheim and the water temp has been really stable. Heaters in the display tank are difficult to hide and look kinda ugly, and also I saw a large fish at a fish shop with a serious burn from a heater - it was really disgusting - just another reason to keep heaters out of the main display. I got my hydor off ebay for a very reasonable price ($40) - maybe you should check it out. Good luck! |
