I saw a Kole Tang and a Hawaiian Hawkfish at my local Petco(I know what your thinking when I say Petco, but they recently got an experienced aquarist for their suffering s/w selection and now they look great). Anyways, their are a few questions I have about these fish before I make a purchase.

1) Is $34 for the Kole Tang and $23 for the Hawaiian Hawkfish a good price?

2)Should they get along with a Cinnamon Clownfish, Coral Beauty Angelfish, Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish, and a Foxface Lo.

3)Will they be happy in a 70 gallon FOWLR tank?(Am I overstocking?)

If you know the answers to any of my questions please post. Thank you.

the Kole Tang should be fine in my opinion, $34 seems like a reasonable local retail price when compare to other American online marine stores...but it also depends what size you are talking about

Adding both may be a bit much for your tank. The Kole tang is a big algae grazer, as is the Foxface I believe. So make sure you add plenty of algae for them to eat. Compatibality wise I don't really see any problems, but I think you are pretty stocked already.

Are there any shrimp in your tank? The Hawkfish will make short work of them.

My Kole tang is well behaved, but incredibly active. If you have any skittish fish, I wouldn't add it. You'll probably never see it again. Mine caused at least 2 fish to jump from the tank.

I sort of figured that I couldn't add both so that is all right. I know very little about the Hawaiian Hawkfish and could'nt find any info on it. I have plenty of brown algae, bubble algae, and a moderate supply of green algae. I offer the Foxface some Seaweed Salad 3 times a week. My only "skittish" fish seems to be my Foxface. It might be because he is newest fish(3 weeks). He's only skittish when I walk in front of the tank quickly. Otherwise he is fine.

I am talking about the size of the Kole tang...a tiny one and a fully grown one is way different in price
