The smell of decay was pretty thick but the rocks remained wet or at least damp the whole time. my question is, do you think the rock is ok to put in the my tank or does it need to be recured. right now i have it in a bucket with fresh salt water and a big air stone under it. how do i tell if it is still good or not. chris |

As soon as there are none of either it is safe to put in your tank. If there is a lot of ammonia or nitrite, you can speed the process up by doing partial water changes on the bucket.
