I know lighting can be an issue with corals, and there are many different ways to do it. However, being semi-broke, I like to go with inexpensive tricks. Currenntly, over my 20L reef, I have a 10 watt mini CP 6700K about 3 inches over a small peice of rock with yellow polyps & some other softy on it (i forget the name). On the other half of my tank I have a 20 watt mini CP 50/50. On the bottom of the tank are some Zoanthids. I havn't noticed much growth from the zoanthids, but my yellow polyps and the others are doing pretty good.

I'm thinking of getting a 65w CP 50/50 fixture, and that would be it. Would this be enough for what I have and then some more future softies? I can't really afford much more now but MAY be able to add something later. My other option is two double T-5 units (14w a bulb).

I think that would be enough lighting for softies. It would be more than you have now, and they are already doing well.
