Melosu58 Hobbyist Posts: 120 Kudos: 86 Votes: 0 Registered: 05-May-2007 | Got my new set of VHO`s today so I now have 4 bulbs running. I have the actinic coming on at 9 AM and the 50/50 at 10 AM. The 50/50 will cut off at 8 PM and actinic at 9 PM. I might have to modify that the first few weeks so as to acclimate them to my tank. I also got me a squamosa Clam. I`ll have some pics tomorrow. |

I like the top down view, you get the best colors from clams that way. BTW it almost looks like you are in the water. Very clear. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

What size is it? And what are those pink and yellow Anthias that you have there (well, they look like Anthias!)? You'll have to post a list of the livestock sometime. |

Matt you could have at least picked the veggie clip up. I`m sorry this forum is a little different . Go to my profile and click on the link that says View my tank and it will show you everything about my tank. |

Be a while before I'm launching into a setup like that I'm afraid. Nice to see you put your Yellow Tang in a 125 too. The number of people who turn up here asking if a Yellow Tang will go in a 40 you would not believe ... |

Mind you, I saw a dream marine setup at Liverpool Museum after the refit. How does a 2,000 gallon aquarium strike you? There's two of them. One has several Achilles Tangs in it, along with an assortment of Damsels, Hawkfishes and Blennies, the other has 30 Anthias in it, five Angelfishes, 7 Butterfly Fishes and a brace of Cleaner Wrasses. Apparently each one is connected to its own sump, and the sumps are 2,000 gallons each too, so each collection of fishes has 2,000 gallons of swimming space and 4,000 gallons of filtered water running through a battery of filters to keep them happy. No problems with ammonia or nitrites in those systems! Trouble is, 2,000 gallons is equivalent to flooding my living room to a depth of 2 feet in seawater, and I think the landlord would have something to say about that! I'd need a MUCH bigger house to even think of being able to contain a 2,000 gallon container empty within it, let alone a filled aquarium that size! Oh, the Museum also has a nice 500 gallon setup with Dendrochirus Lionfishes in it. Again, the stuff that dreams are made of. The constructive uses I could put Paris Hilton's money to ... |
