Well, the tank has been up for over a month now and all is going well! My ricordia is settling in nicely and the zoos that I got as "rubble coral" are really coming to life!

If anyone has additional recommendations on care, let me know!

The ric is really difficult to get good pics, it's a beautiful purple that is rimmed with green.

looks like you have a cyno problem there it normaly means that your phostphate's are high and you dont have enought flow.

Should get another could of power heads in there mate.

Yeah, it's actually doing a good bit better than it was. I adjusted the lighting cycle a bit, and that seemed to help.

Cyano doesnt necessarily mean that phosphates are high...excess nutrients yes, but not just phosphates.

With your tank being as new as it is, I wouldnt worry too much about the cyano. Its a common part of the "cycle" that a new marine tank has.

If the cyano persists after awhile, increased flow, aggressive protein skimming, and frequent water changes will help erradicate it.

Cool. I went on a major cyano blasting session this afternoon, yay for the turkey baster. The tank looks much better now.

I'll post pics at some point.

Haha, the turkey baster is WONDERFUL for too many things...I know a friend who used his with Mr. Aiptasia and I bet that was a blast...

Anyway, tank seems to be coming along nicely!! What kind of lights are you running?

Ok, after the date with the turkey the baster, the tank is looking much better!

live rock

Underneath the slime I found what looks like coraline algae and some other stuff!

Currently I'm running 2x96W PC over it and may add another 110 watts depending on how this goes.
