I'll try to explain this scenario the best I can and any ideas if you were in this situation would be appreciated.

My buddy who owns the 400 gal. tank is having some serious problems w/ bacterial infections. He had a rock beauty that infected everyone. Instead of naming all of the fish that he once had he has probably about 5 total fish left , probably out of 12-14.

He has a small adult queen at the moment in a quarantine tank. this is the last week for the treatment. The queen had sores around its mouth that were rapidly spreading. I don't remember the name of the meds he used but it's clearing up fast. Once the queen is out he is going to run the remaining fish through the 10 gal. quarantine tank even tho he is treating his entire 400 gal tank also. It is a FO tank. Now the dilema is once the queen is out instead of throwing it back into the infected tank I offered to let him use my 55 gal. Are there any precautions I need to tak for my 55? It's a fish only w/ about 40 lbs. of live rock in there. I have a banana wrasse in there (small) and a 1" huma huma trigger in there also. Along w/ a 4" tomato clown and a 4" oyster fish and a 3" fuzzy dwarf lion. Now I planned on moving my trigger and wrasse into my 125. But I really don't have room in it past that. Once a fish has been on antibiotics is it still heavily contagious? And will I need to remove my live rock also? The plan was to let him use the 55 as a recovery tank for his guys until he gets his 400 gal. situated. Mainly tears it down and has to recycle it again.

I just felt bad for him considering the type of fish he has and had in there. He has a eel i've never seen before. it's albino and has what looks like black stitching around the face.

So any ideas on what precautions i need to take or if I have the right idea for doing this or not?

I also told him no other fish of his will go into the tank unless it's been in his QT for the full 2 weeks even tho he's treating the 400 gal.

Any kind of help would be great

Thanks.

I wouldnt chance it unless the fish had been in the QT/hospital tank and has been treated for 4 weeks, with 2 weeks of not showing any signs of disease...thats 6 weeks total time.

There is no need to remove your rock, as long as you dont add the medicated water to your tank, or treat your tank with the med.
