I am planning on putting 2 pounds of live rock in there. I was thinking of putting a 1/2 inch yellow clown goby that I have in my quarentine tank. Any comments are great thank you. |

They are bright yellow and quite cute. http://www.fitermania.com/75gallonreef/images/sm_11-11-02_yellow_clown_goby_closeup.jpg This is an okay picture of them. They are really adorable but I just don't know about putting them in a 1 gallon tank. That is just SO small! I would maybe do a few inverts but that is it. If you insist on putting a fish in the tank then maybe you should look into neon gobies. They are very small and quite active. http://www.oceanpets.com/images/NEON%20BLUE%20GOBY.jpg They are very small and very cute. They only get to be about inch long so that would still be pushing the bioload because the ratio for SW is 1 inch of fish to every 4 gallons of water, unlike the FW which is usually 1 inch of fish for every 1 gallon of water. You should take that into consideration. Well Good Luck! P.S. Sorry if this seems a little spastic I am at work right now and trying to do a few things at once. Christina |

Still I wouldn't put either in a 1g tank. A 5g seems like a good minimum for any saltwater fish. Putting even a very small active fish in 1g of water doesn't sound like a good idea. With 2lbs of rock in there how much water and swimming space does it actually become... That little goby is going to triple it's size if cared for properly. |
