I want to purchase an r/o unit before I purchase a tank. Which name brands should I look for? The tank size I am leaning toward is 100 gal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I bought one from this guy on ebay and always recommend him. Has worked great for me for well over a year now. Cheapest reliable, high output unit I could find.

BTW, I like the way you think, normally we have to convince most people to get RO/DI AFTER they get their tank up and have problems.

I also have the unit linked to above and it works great. Only minor issue we had was that the pipe I was connecting it to was about twice the size the piece with the needle valve was fitted for. I emailed them and they sent me a larger one or you can probably buy it at any hardware store. There was another good company on ebay but now I can't seem to find it. I do see several new sellers with lots of RO units listed. Ebay has become the place to go for affordable and good quality RO units. Manufacturers that market units just for fish tanks tend to charge a few $100 over what an equivalent unit off ebay would cost.

IMO an RO/DI is the way to go. I purchased RO/DI water from my LFS for many years. 7 to be exact. Then 2 yrs ago I got my own unit and I have loved every drop of it. You will too.
