I have a few turbo snails, could this new snail be a baby turbo snail or could it be something else that is going to over run the tank like in freshwater aquariums? |

Little sand sifters that love to come out when they smell food. Get a pic up. ![]() -Ferret -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |

They are a member of the Nerite family, and will reproduce in your tank. Dont worry though, they are not a pest and are just algae eating snails. They will stay small (about the size of pest snails in fw tanks) and are for the most part nocturnal. |

They stay really small, and always crawl up the front of the glass. ![]() -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |

Also Nassarius snails will rarely crawl up the glass if there is a sand bed in a tank and there is enough food. If they are on the glass then that normally means that they are searching for food that isnt available to them. Im still sticking to my Nerite snail guess. |

We have a lot of them in one specific tank at work, which has a sand bed. Whenever I feed, they come out of the bed like CRAZY in search of the food. I see them crawl right up the glass often enough, so that's why I took my guess. We get them really tiny. >.< You're probably right though. -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |
