I was really contemplating getting a SW tank instead of a planted FW one. What should be the budget, and I only have 2 FW tanks so far, so I don't know if I'm experienced enough. If I was going to get one, I would go for a 29 gallon tank with this kit. Would I need shelf space next to the aquarium for stuff or could I just get a metal stand and hook everything on to the side of the tank?
Also, how much more difficult is it than freshwater and what would be the estimated time and monetary cost? I hate to ask something like that but I'm lazy and I really need to get motivated to do some stuff. I would probably want a yellowhead jawfish and a kaudern's cardinal if that would work, not sure though.

I'm probably not up to it, but just in case I go insane and try it, a "just plain list" of stuff not in that kit would help.

Does anyone know a good book about them? I was thinking The Simple Guide to Saltwater Aquariums

How much harder? Not much. More expensive, yes, harder, not really. The main difference is the salt (obviously). Thats basically about it. You can make it harder by trying to save money and cut corners, but in the end, the best thing to do is to go high quality equipment.

Reef aquariums can be a little iffy because many corals need special care, but again, you are making it harder on yourself. To keep simple fish like damsels, its not hard at all.

Would that kit I saw need an air pump for the skimmer? I read the Saltwater FAQ last night and it said I might get sucked into having to buy a high pressure air pump for a venturi skimmer.
