Im in the process of doing the landscape of the tank. Its already got 2 boxes of LR and have 3 more boxes still to come. It has already been cycled for about 2 months, but might need to re-cycle it with the amount of LR added again. Im thinking a main reef on the left and a small island on the right which holds a nice bright purple magnifica anemonie. The tank has its own sump, skimmer etc. It is lid up with 6 150watt MHs...which IMO isnt enought. Thinking of upgrading it to atleast 6 250watt MHs. The tank is hooked up to a calcium reactor by Aquamedic, thus thinking of SPS.

I was thinking the upper part of the aquarium dedicated to SPS, and the middle and bottom for softies and also LPS. Also. on the DSB some clams. By the way, this is going to be a display for a LFS in Sydney, but all corals and inhabitants will be hand picked from all the LFS around Sydney.

The most thing that worries me is the fish. I was thinking about 8 or so fish, for example:

- A pair of Black Ocellaris Clowns
- A Coral Beauty
- A Flame Angel
- A 6 Line Wrasse
- A Cleaner Wrasse
- Small Pair of Gold Headed Sleeper Gobys
- Pair of Decorated/Fire Goby
- A Small Yellow Tang
- A Small Blue Tang
- A Blenny

Also a pair of Blood Shrimps and most of all...heaps of Turbo Snails. All Fish etc will be added slowly to make sure its stable.

The tank now is stocked with some fish that the owner placed in for now, as some new stocking tanks would be placed in. But, once the rest of the LR arrives the fish would be removed and the LR now will be changed around to suit the reef idea formation and soon ready to be stocked up with corals.

Hope to post more updates.
Please leave improvements and suggestions.

Are you paying for this? That would be alot of money. I suggets you get a huge clena up crew for a tank that size look at live aquaria they have many great deals on invert cleaning packages there.

Sounds like it's going to be a pretty fabulous display tank, mangor34.. I hope you plan on taking some pictures for us once you get it completed.. I wouldn't even mind seeing some pictures of the process if you found the time

As for your list, I'd remove the Cleaner Wrasse simply because they have such a dismal survival rate in captivity.. Were it my store's display tank, even a large one like the one you've got planned, I'd not want to advertise a fish that has a very good chance of starving to death in pretty much any home aquaria situation..

Jamie, the tank is at a Sydney LFS. The owner asked me to do the aquascaping and get him a list of fish and corals to get in. So, I guess his paying me to do it...and then his getting the corals in himself...so I guess I would be chosing the corals from the corals he gets in.

JMHO, I guess I would take him off the list. I got the pair of Blood Shrimps already in Quaratine at the LFS at the back. Very nice looking, just need to make sure there are no mantis shrimps in the tank. They are about $200-$240 retail each in Australia

Anyways, just as an update...

The fish list has been changed and the coral list has been made. Also the LR has arrived, but it was too fresh and has alot of dead sponges. One of the box is under 4 MHs in the coral tank, and the other box is at back sump under 2 MHs. Both skimmers going nuts and should be ready by next week. We also got a small Yellow Tang in Quaratine at the back, Hawaiian fish are getting quite hard to import into Australia as the importing rules have changed again and its harder to import from there. Thus, I decided to place it to the Quaratine for the display tank.

The New Fish List so far:

- True pair of Black Ocellaris/Perculas
- Pair of Sand Swifter Gobys (In Quaratine @ back)
- A Flame Angel
- A Coral Beauty
- A Yellow Tang (In Quaratine @ back)
- A Blue Tang
- A Japonicus Tang
- A Blenny
- A pair of Decora/Fire Goby
- And some other small reef fish that will be added after the tank is completed.

The New Invert List so far:

- Pair of True Blood Shrimps (In Quaratine @ back)
- Purple Magnifica Anemonie (In Current Display Tank)
- 3-5 Clams
- Huge Clean up crew

The New Coral List so far:
- 3-5 small colonies of Acropora
- All types of LEathers
- Mushrooms
- Zoos
- Hammer, Torch, frogspawn, Elegance coral
- Blue/Purple Long tenticle plate coral
- metalic Brain Coral
- And other small/special corals not on list

Photos of the current tank coming soon.
Cheers
