Ola,

I am from the UK & we have been having an unusually warm summer (No sunshine just heat). As such my tank temp has raised to 30D. C. Everything seemd OK with this but I am concerned.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution (Without resorting to costly chillers)

Also I am having problems with my RO unit. the scre fit part is 20mm wide to fit the tap - however the pipes are just 5mm thick. This is creating a huge pressure buildup that has recently caused my main pipe to leak. Is there some special way to filter water without creating a pressure back flow?

Thanks

Do you have glass tops on your tank? If you do remove them and run open top. This will let water evaporate, which will cool the tank.......you can also use some fans to blow across the surface of the water to evaporate more water, thus cooling the tank.

As for the r/o problem......I guess I dont understand what you are saying is happening.

I get that problem sometimes here to in sydney. The fan trick is a good one but if that dosn't work freeze some bottles of water ands float them in the sump if you have one. Im not sure how well it would work if you p[ut them directly into the tank, like to cold in some areas that would be realy bad if you had corals.
