I currently use tap water ran through a DI filter i have done for the past 3 years. (can't afford a RO unit). However i was wondering if distiled water is each good.
I'm thinking it should be the best as it's ultra pure water??

I'm not sure which is best. I just get RO water at the grocery store for like 30 cents a gallon. Although last weekend when I was out to get RO water they didn't have any so I bought 5 gallons of spring water for 99 cents each.

RO/DI water is good, because it's really de-contaminated or whatever...but I believe during a conversation with Marc (ACIDRAIN) I learned that you have to add many more things to the water before it's ready for fish...*calls Marc* I'm interested in hearing this too, because I'm researching RO/DI units for my new tank ATM...

RO/DI is best....the RO membrane removes most of the contamination, then the DI unit polishes it off and makes it nearly perfect water.

Liana, Marc is correct, but with SW it doesnt really matter because your salt mix adds all the minerals and such back to the water.
