Hi all. I was just wondering your opinion of the compatibility of these two (Yellow Tang and Niger Trigger). They are both small; the Niger about 2 inches and the Tang is the size of a quarter. So far, they get along great and often swim together. They are very social with each other--as of right now. I was wondering though about long term.
Thanks for any and all info!

Leah

At the moment they are in a 55 gallon tank. I know--way too small. They will be moving to a 125 in October.

The Niger will soonoutgrow your tank, the smallest tank that I would put a Niger Trigger in is a 6x2x2.
I have at the moment at work 3 Niger Triggers the smallest is about the size you described and the biggest is about 8-9" and that one is still not fully grown, they can get to over 12"

I agree, the 55 is too small for anything long term. The 125 will replace it in October. The 55 was previously a reef tank. After selling the inhabitants (mainly because of lighting issues), I decided that I wanted to have bigger more aggressive fish. Hopefully the 55 will be suitable until October. With only 2 fish in the tank, I am *hopeing* that they will be ok for that amount of time.

The 125 gallon is definately the one to use long term. As both are currently juveniles, they should be fine until your planned move.
