They're not very picky, so you should be able to get it eating any kind of meaty grub. Most frozen foods work great, and I know that they'll pick off of live rock for invertebrates and whatnot. |

It helps if you're able to pre-soak the pellet in a garlic extract which enhances the smell and flavor of the food, but even still the fish may prefer something with more bits and pieces and resembles actual animals. Yeah, they'll burrow when stressed. It sounds like yours is new, so I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see it for a few days at least. |

There are commercially-available liquid extract products, and these work just great. Most folks just choose to buy these, but I *think* you can puree garlic to get similar results. I'm not sure about that last part, so you'd be wise to get more opinions. |

But most wrasses do in fact bury themselves, and can dissapear for what appears to be like days at a time. Check your ammonia levels, that will tell you if there's a dead animal in the tank. If your water params are all safe, I wouldn't touch the tank. If they're out of wack, I'd poke around and see if you can find him. As for garlic additives, I like Kent Garlic Xtreme a lot. I feed that to my tank. -Formerly known as the Ferretfish |
