aquaC EV 180 | |
Alex Fish Addict 510 Posts: 721 Registered: 03-Oct-2004 | Anyone have any opinions on this skimmer or this brand of skimmer? What do you think of this skimmer? Will it skim the 2ft cube predominantly sps (to be) tank well? Is there any other skimmer that you recommend? |

For some reason I think Liana (terranova) has one that's a little larger on her tank. Maybe give her a PM and ask her what she thinks of it. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

The one you linked to is supposed to handle 300 gallons . I know most say you can't over skim, but there's a point where you're spending more than you need to. That said....I have not heard anything about the acryllic oceans stuff. Looks like a beast though....but doesn't come with a pump. Performance would vary by pump brand I'm sure. Alex Fish Addict 510 Posts: 721 Registered: 03-Oct-2004 | i guess the AOS 2 would work fine im just not sure i trust the rating of skimmers, the reason i was looking at the AOS3 was because the price difference between the two is not very much, gets to be about $40 when you include the price of a larger pump... Thinking atm about running the AOS2 with a laguna 4500lph pump... Acrylic Oceans is an Australian made brand thats probably why you havent heard of it, ive only ever heard good reviews about these skimmers though, and the sure do look the part. I dont understand the difference between the max flow and the free flow power jet in the laguna pump range, do you have any idea? |

I wouldn't really know the difference, unless it has to do with head pressure, sorry. Or are they two different pumps.....see I'm in the dark here. Someone in the technical tinkering might know. Alex Fish Addict 510 Posts: 721 Registered: 03-Oct-2004 | i found out that laguna site is pretty hard to find... powered by a magnetic-driven motor that's unrivaled in the market for generating large amounts of water flow at extremely low energy costs. The PowerJet pumps included in these kits are powered by Italian-made motors that provide continuous and reliable water circulation at low energy costs. theres no difference in price over here so im going to go for a Max Flo 600 |
