I can't see how a 7 ft. fish would be suitable for a 500g tank.

As an Expert Only species, we recommend that only the expert marine aquarist, zoo, or research institution should purchase this species.

The fish would probabaly never reach 7ft. in length in home aquaria.

It's really odd to me that they would even be selling these fish to be honest.

You could do a sepcies tank. When they come to you shipped, they are only 5-10" in length. You have to remember that a 6ft. tank is still more than 7 times they're body length.

Another thing to remember, is that fish are not complex enough to have emotions. They don't get happy, or sad... Even if they did, they would forget in a matter of weeks. Sure, they can be stressed, but keeping any fish in a tank, no matter how large it is, is going to have some effect on their stress level.

Having said that, I don't particularly agree with keeping this fish.

I strongly disagree with this statement. Fish show a large range of complex emotions along with personalities. Sea-horses are known to show extreme sadness when a mate is lost. Clowns can get "angry" with each other and are known to separate for no visible reason.

While fish obviously can not show the level of emotion that a human can they are by no means basic.

I don;t think it has anything to do with emotions. It's just what they remember. Their memories are short lived for the most part, but they behave differently when something new is introduced.

That's why seahorses seem "sad". They're not sad, it's more like a confusing state b/c what they remember is no longer there. They will remain that way until it is forgotten.

At least they give the max length on the site.:%)

Yeah, I have seen Great Barracudas in person, both adults at Sea World (SCARY AS SHIBBY) and little itty-bitty ones at the LFS. What confuses me is why they don't sell some of the smaller species of Barracudas instead of the Great Barracuda.
