Most clownfish will do well anywhere between 8.1 to 8.4 in regards to pH..

Also, saltwater fish require that their pH be comparable to what they would be naturally acclimated to.. If they were exposed to pH levels that were much lower or higher than what they are accoustomed, they would experience pH shock and stress just as a freshwater fish would..

in regards to ph, with the range Oleta provided, it is more important to be stable than to fluctuate greatly in search of perfect ph
