"Pygmy angel" is a very vague name that can refer to a host of fish--which "pygmy angel" did you buy? If you're not sure, coloring would be nice, of course. Weaning will vary according to species. I haven't kept angels, so I can't give you specifics.

I bet if you soaked the other foods in garlic extract he would eat it. If not try adding garlic to the brine, and then to something else, and slowly taking away more and more garlic from the new food.

Just mix the brine in w/ some flakes or frozen food and slowly reduce the brine after every other feeding or so. That's always worked for me when I purchased a picky eater. Seems my LFS feeds all their fish brine.

Also forgot to add try frozen mysis shrimp. It's slightly larger than brine and better for the fish. There's a couple diff. kinds of mysis now, the big freshwater mysis pack or the cubes packed w/ the vitamins. My guys love the mysis. I've fed that to my mandarin for 2+ years now.

Garlic extreme is made by Kent. There are a few others available at my LFS and online.I think that DTHURS has also used the caplets found in drug stores but splitting open the caplets would seem messy and stinky.

CALI....It is the extract of Garlic. It is said to iratate(sp.) some parasites and to increase appetite in fish.

Leave it alone for know.Moving it to a QT will just stress it further. Its probably just getting used to its new home.

I'll remember that. Mysis shrimp in garlic extract. Wonder if it would work with really "bad anorexics" such as Paracentropyge multifasciatus ?
