The only time water conditioner would be needed is if you were using tap water and needed to do an emergency water change where you couldnt let the water sit and age. If you are running a protein skimmer you especially dont want to use a water conditioner....it will make the skimmer go crazy and produce a very wet foam.....most likely overflowing your skimmer and draining a good portion of water from your tank onto your floor. |
