when all the fish and living rock in my marine tank were given to me by a lady i used to work with i was told that i also had a lobster. While i have actually find out yesterday that i have 2, i have no idea what type they are but i can only describe them as kinda brown in colour, one has what i would guess as light blue pincher things the other doesnt. They are also about an inch in size.

But what i wanted to ask is does anyone no what type they are and also what do i feed them? I noticed that one will run out and get some flakes that drop to the bottom but the other just seems to move gravel around. i have only seen one run out once out of the whole time i have had them.

thank you for any help!

Well, it will be pretty impossible to ID them without photos, but it's safe to assume that its a crab of some type. That means that it will almost certainly be an opportunistic feeder. Basically, anything you feed to the fish the crab will snack on the leftovers. I wouldn't really worry about feeding them directly, although you can if youd like

well i cant get a very good picture as they hide under my live rock! but they are either a form of shrimp or lobster as they are thin rather than wide

Sounds like a Mantis Shrimp to me. They sort of look like a cross between a lobster and a shrimp, in my opinion.
