10 Gallon stocking | |
benny25 Small Fry Posts: 14 Kudos: 13 Votes: 0 Registered: 17-Apr-2005 | I was looking to get some ideas for stocking a ten gallon tank. I have had experience with many species of fish before so delicate fish aren't a problem |

Even when I had just 3 of them they took over my 55g. They bounce around all day worse than danios and can become agressive or nippy in small tanks or cramped conditions. The other tetras would do ok although I don't recommend schooling fish for a 10g. I prefer to do species tanks since a 10g isn't really long enough to allow schooling fish to swim naturally. One of my favorites are small gouramis like sparkling or spiketail paradise(Pseudosphromenus dayi) not the more commonly sold blue or red paradise fish which is Macropodus opercularis. Dwarf puffers are also interesting and completely freshwater. You could keep a good sized group in a 10g(heavily decorated) and might even end up with puffer fry. Livebearers are entirely possible but if your not careful will overstock a 10g within a month or 2 and most stores won't take any of the common livebearer fry. Small shellies could also be good especially if you want something to breed and that stores might be willing to buy. There are tons of ideas and somewhere a small tank stocking guide if you do a search. |

Some people said yes. Also there were a lot of reccomendations for shellies, whatever they are. I plan to look them up myself. |
