Ok... Here I am again... With an empty 30g (36"x12" aquarium... Begging to be filled... I've had most everything common... Tetra... Barbs... Cories... Plecos... Loaches... Guppies... African Cichlids...

So... I need something new... Something different... Something exciting.... I'd like something good sized, and possibly something smaller to go with it...

A few stipulations however... They will need to be fine in a sparsely decorated aquarium, in fact, a bare aquarium with only a thin layer of sand would be ideal and I'd like them to be somewhat colorful or at least interesting to look at.

If you can think of a fish that sounds like something I might want, let me know .

(Sidenote: You might have seen my post in the marine forums, this is the same tank... I'm still on the fence about what to go with.)

in a bare aquarium I would strongly suggest ghost knife fish there the coolest fish to look at and are perfect to put in a bare tank as long as you supply with clear ghost tubing for them. I think they are the most intresting fish to look at.

Ghost knifes get to be extremely large... 20inches large... Which is simple much to big for my 30g. Thank you for your reply though.

But they grow extremely slow, I've kept mine for almost 2 years and I have hardly noticed any change in size It seems they grow about less than an inch a year

If someone else can verify their slow growth, I will definately consider getting one.

I'm really more looking for personal experences... However I think this post is kind of null and void now. After talking to Racso and Reef Runt I think I've decided on a pair of false clowns.... Salt water here I come.
