My head is spinning when I try to see where what fish would come from and go to :%)

Anyway, I see that you basically would like to convert your 29G to a convict breeder so all other fish have to move.

In the process, I see the following fish “disappear” : 3 female Bettas, 3 Zebra Danios, 1 Loach
And I see the following fish being added: 2 Convicts, 3 Rams, 3 Threadfin Rainbows, 3 Cherry Barbs

Is that right so far?

Problems that I could think of, IMHO, are:

a) Too many Rams in a 20G. What if they do not pair off? Even if they do, the territories night be too close to each other for comfort.
b) I thought Cherry Barbs are nippy. If that is right then your Threadfins with their beautiful long fins will have a problem.
c) Aren’t most rainbow fish schooling? Then 3 would be insufficient.
d) The 20G seems tightly stocked, good maintenance will be required.
e) The 10G will be ok for 12 Guppies (maintain well) but what if they have babies (and they will)?
f) I know too little about Convicts to make a statement.

Hope this helps,

Ingo

Cherry barbs are'nt to nippy they will be fine in that tank. Also you can breed Convicts in a 29 gallon you just have to get rid of your current stock thats all.

Rams and angels are both from south america. I plan on making a 55 gallon SA bio type myself...a 75 SA bio type would look awesome

Here is my opinion on what you should do with a 75 gallon bio type...

5-6 Angels
4 Blue Rams
15 Cory's (your pic)
25 Cardinal Tetras
1 SA Pleco of some sort (I'm going with a gold nugget L-18 for my tank)
1 Farlowella cat or whiptail cat

There is probably room for more, but I'm not quite sure.

As for your tanks right now...I can't really find any problems with your moving around...though I agree 3 Rams in a 20 is probably a bad idea.

Good luck

fishy,

What's going on?

Did you loose 2 fish within 2 hours?

Please explain,

Ingo

i had moved some fish to a new 20 gallon, after mt test strips told me it was cycled, so now i have lost 1 cherry barb, and 3 corys, whats in the 20 right now is 3 zebra danio, 1 male betta, 2 females, and 1 peppered cory i did have 5 corys in there, but 1 was found dead, i watched 1 spin, then die, and i found another dead stuck in a plant i have done a water change, and the fish seem more stable nowim gunna wait 2 or 3 weeks to add anything else, i want to be perfectly safe

fishy,

Good idea to wait a few weeks, seems like you put too many fish in too early in the process. Darn Test Strips ]:|]:|]:|

Sorry about your losses. Keep a close eye on the fish that are still in there.

I don’t use test strips as I have heard more than once here that they seem to be highly unreliable. I use the liquid tests from Aquarium Pharmaceuticals (and hope they are better).

Looking at this from a positive perspective: You have more time to decide what fish will go where
