There are plants that have evolved specifically to float and not just be light enough to sink. Think of duckweed, and lily pads. I believe that they can be quite rapid 'breeders' though, and you can soon find your tank covered in the stuff. They are also very good at removing nitrates from the water which can be to the detriment of other plants if you've managed to get a low nitrate reading (equally this is very useful if you have a high nitrate reading and you want to prevent algae). I've got some floating plants and I generally scoop a fair amount out at each water change to prevent it from taking over.

I'm afraid I'm not much good with plants, so you're probably better off going on the plant section and asking experts there names of plants etc.

Hornwort, IMHO, is about the ugliest plant in the water world .

I found it rather hard to work with as when it is not in the best condition (which is the case when it sinks on its own) it tends to shed its "needles" and they float all over the tank. Other good floaters are wisteria and water sprite. I had duckweed before, and like waldena said, I had to scoop out quite a bit of it during my water changes. Then, one day, I scooped out too much and the remaining group could not multiply (under excellent conditions supposedly double per day) faster than the rainbows and pearls (and maybe other fish as well) ate it. All gone

How is the algae, xlinkinparkx? I would not add more fish until you know your source for the algae, as it may well be that the fish cause it (see my ongoing algae woes in my 125G).

And I was just about to buy 4 more today.

And I scarped off the alge and I brought down my lighting, and its looking betterish, oh I went to check if I could get a bristle nose pleco at my LFS but he doesnt have any in stock, any other good alge eaters anybody?

What about Kribs instead of Rams?

Just wondering.

What about Kribs instead of Rams?

Kribs are nice, but quite a step up on the aggression scale from the Rams, in particular when breeding.

Have you ever looked into the broad range of available Apistogrammas? Like the agassizii, cacatuoides, and the one I have - viejita II (and there are many others).

I got some new plants since then.

All my fish are doing good, I got 5more serpea's and everything is doing great.

I also bought some frozen blood worms, how do I see these, do I need to defrost them, do I cut the cube in half or do I feed it full.

Just a note these serpeas are so much fun to watch, there pirhana like to the blood worms littery ripping it out of the mouth of my DG, so I hand feed him.
Thankyou!
