![]() | 55 Gallon Paludarium Filtration |
erinyes![]() Small Fry Posts: 10 Kudos: 5 Votes: 0 Registered: 28-Jul-2004 ![]() ![]() | I'm interested in the type of filter a 55 gallon paludarium would require. The total gallons will be approx 25 and stocked with 3 Pearl Gourami or fish roughly that size. I don't intend to use a water feature. There will be large pieces of driftwood, so multiple filters or a decent current makes sense. I figure probably canister filters, but I just wanted some suggestions as to brand/size and if I should use more than one type. |

Added current can be created using a powerhead or two. I've got aquaclear powerheads in most of my tanks. The reverse flow powerhead in my pond was just a bit too strong and managed to suck in a few fish though ![]() If you do use a canister keep in mind that you'll want to leave space for the tubes and wires in the aquascape and find a way to hide it while designing the landscape portion. I'm running an eheim ecco in my 30 gallon tank which is rated for 75 gallonsthe flow doesnt seem too strong and the ecco filters are rather reasonably priced ![]() ^_^[hr width='20%'] ![]() ![]() |
