I was wondering if there is ever a time when algae is good for the tank? I don't mean algae all over the place but just a little on a rock or something.

I let the algae grow, although it doesn't get to stay there long, the ottos eat it. They really eat a lot of it so if I ever scrape any, it's just on the front glass to help me see in better.
