I'd never EVER put WCMM in there.

In fact I wouldn't put WCMM in anything smaller than a 20 gallon tank. These are very active fish and sticking 3 in a bowl borders on torture.

Bettas, while found in the wild in tropical regions, have been in cooler climates for generations. While I won't suggest to anyone to keep one at 60F they can handle lower temperatures so long as there are no fluctuations in the temperature. Get a thermometer. Check the temperature of the bowl every few hours over the next few days, check it once or twice during the night, if it's doesnt swing and doesnt overheat you'll be fine for a betta. There are small heaters out there it just takes a little bit of looking.

I'd leave this as a small planted bowl, or fill it with M&M's.....I mean healthy snacks...

I stand by what I said before.A betta and a snail or a betta with a trio of shrimp would look nice.Or even a school of 5 neons.

Expanding on Babels point, i would also NEVER put Neons in a 3 gallon bowl. Not enough swimming space etc, etc, etc, and they need the filter and heater etc. 15 preferably, 10 at a push.

I still think you should leave it as a planted bowl with no fish.

Leaving it planted means just that, only plants.

Why not go buy a proper aquarium? I too am not a fan
of bowls, and even though I have 1, its not used for anything except as a container to soak nets and equipment in salty water.

A 10g bare aquarium usually runs about 10-15 dollars,
and will give you the room you need for the fish you like.
In a bowl you cant do much at all.
And yeah, white clouds do jump.

And babel meant M&Ms like the candy, as in suggsting using it as a candy dish.

3 Shrimp and some java moss would look awesome!
Cherry shrimp are very very beautiful, and even ghost
shrimp are nice in their own right.

If you did decide to save money, a 10g full setup usually
runs around 35 dollars - but that may be a down the line in the future plan.

With shrimps its probably easier to just change like 70% of the water.
An air hose tubing would work really well, and lets you get little bits of crud off the bottom without sucking the shrimp up.

No air line tubing is such small diameter it would be impossible to suck up rocks with it.

For smaller tanks I use a foot long piece of hard air tubing fitted at the end with soft air tubing, long enough to reach container or floor.

Results in a mini gravel-vaccum that gets into the tightest spots. Use it safely on fry tanks.

Hope it goes well!

Why don't you take a look at Petland, In the states we have petco and petsmart they might be close by you as well. They carry a very small heater designed for bowls and nano tanks. It is just a small square box that you put in the tank. And only heats the water slightly. They also carry a battery powered siphon, for gravel cleaning, it doesn't remove water and is only for cleaning the gravel.

You know if your already running a bowl with no heater, filter, etc... and you do want a larger tank why not just run a 10g with no heater, filter... If your problem is the cost of these items and not the tank then don't buy them since you aren't using them now anyway. Then you wouldn't be restricted by a tiny 3g bowl that in my opinion is not fit for anything but a couple shrimp and a java fern or moss. Although it's better than most bettas are kept in I prefer to put them in 5g tanks or larger. Anything I would put in a 3g would require heater, filter, or both. If your gonna run a filterless, heaterless tank you might as well get the biggest one you can to make up for it. Plus if you either get the tank free or put any extra money you want to spend into the lighting system then you can run a fully planted tank that will successfully support some fish without filter. It's so easy to find 10g tanks for free if you just ask around. Even people you wouldn't think would keep fish often have a 10g sitting around in their garage from some past experiment at keeping fish, amphibians, or even rodents. Clean it up, test for leaks, and your good. A standard 10g hood which costs no more than a new tank can hold up to 50watts using screw in pc sunlight bulbs from the hardware store. Might need a co2 system at that point but you can DIY with a 2 liter soda bottle, some extra air tubing, and a mix of yeast, sugar, and water. Practically free depending what you've got laying around the house. I've set up plenty of tanks on a budget and a 10g is just perfect. Big enough to be forgiving of mistakes so long as you don't stock it heavily and small enough you don't have to get a big lighting system for pc tubes or setup compressed co2 cannisters. A 3g bowl on the other hand is a disaster waiting to happen if you aren't experienced enough and don't do everything just right. I find even 5g tanks rather annoying because the lack of water volume puts such restraints on everything. My 5g is now being used as a sandbath for the degus and I aquired another free used 10g and 20g instead. So easy to setup stable planted tanks in that size range.
