I want to start feeding my fish with Brine Shrimp. Is there a way to keep Brine Shrimp alive and breeding, or do i have to go the pet store for more? My fish are breeding too much (lol) and i heard that brine shrimp are good food for fry. Would i need a whole nother tank for brine shrimp or could i just use a bucket and maintain them in there? Thanks for any responses -Nick Last edited by nickman713 at 18-Jun-2005 23:24 |

Live Brine Shrimp is very good for your fry & it's better to hatch some Brine Shrimp every day, so have some live food daily. You can also feed newly hatched fry some Microworms. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Or do they breed and keep having more shrimp... I'm totally new at this, so detail everything very well. Thanks for any replies |

I am one of those people that doesnt't have alot of free time, so frozen BBS works alot better for me. Thats what I feed my fry. |

You can buy a Brine Shrimp hatcher & fill it up with water & add salt. Place the eggs all around the hatcher & in 36 hours you'll have Live Brine Shrimp. You can feed those to your fry & then make some more. You have to do daily Brine Shrimp eggs in your hatcher, so you can feed your fish daily. You can also buy frozen Daphnia cubes & it's very good food for your fry, but nothing can beat Live food for the fry. Have you ever tried Microworms?. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
