	Filter question:
John'sWildKingdom Hobbyist Posts: 50 Kudos: 30 Votes: 3 Registered: 01-Mar-2004	Hey y'all. I'm moving two 10 gallon tanks into one 33 gallon I just aquired used. The 33 came with two working filters that I believe are "Secondnature Whisper Power Filter"s. The lids say that and also have the number '2' on them. SO, my question is: Will one of these filters be adequate for the tank or do I need to run both at the same time? John

T/A Mega Fish Posts: 942 Kudos: 1796 Registered: 20-Feb-2004	My suggestion is to use the two filters that you had on your 10 gallon tanks. If you are adding all your fish at one time to the 33 gallon, you will need the established bacteria that is on YOUR filters from the 10 gallon tanks.

T/A Mega Fish Posts: 942 Kudos: 1796 Registered: 20-Feb-2004	You should have no problems with doing it that way. I have a Penguin filter setup on a tank with zebra danios and ADFs. I moved the danios over to new tank along with 2 platies. All I did was move that Penguin filter over to the new tank, and I had no problems at all.

I will keep up on the levels to make sure there are no spikes of the bad stuff just in case. What a great, and extremely simple, idea! I can't believe I didn't think of this. Thanks for the advice.
