In the past month all 5 of my fish died so yesterday when the last one died, i emptied my tank. Without thinking i put some soap into the tank and i am now wondering if future fish will be okay in this tank. If i rinse it well before putting new fish in, will it be fine?

I have a ten gallon tank and i am really interested in keeping gouramis. Would I be able to keep several male gouramis together? I really want either honey or dwarf gouramis but i dont want a tank with just one fish in it. I'm not really interested in female gouramis becuase of their colouring. I also really like bettas but i have heard that gouramis and bettas do not do well together.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Not knowing your knowledge and such, I have to ask you, did you cycle the tank, and do you know about the cycle of fish tanks?

Also, yes just rinse the tank out very well, and it should be fine. When you fill the tank back up, if you see bubbles forming together on the top of the water, it may mean you did not rinse it good enough.

Male gouramis are territorial. Having more then one in a 10 gallon would lead to conflicts. I have 2 in a 26 gal. and they tolerate each other as long as they stay on their own side of the tank.

I agree with Bettafin. I have a pair of males in a 29 that get along fine as long as they each stay at their end of the tank. when they meet in the middle there is a squabble, then they go back to their end of the tank. A male and a female should be fine, tho

A 10gal tank is not big enough for 2 Male Dwarf Gourami. You can get 1 & then add a few Tetra's, if you want.

Did you cycle the tank before putting any fish in?.
