tiger barbs are pretty hardy

danios might be made of steel

my angels managed through a lot

some other cichlids are pretty hardy - rams and angels are all I've had experience with

tetras are always a gamble, I had a tetra that lived through WW3, but all his friends passed. Most are NOT hardy though.

BN plecos are hardy if you like the bottom feeders. Striped rafael cats will live through anything, If you go for their look.

IME platys and other livebearers are pretty good.

That's about all the really hardy fish I've had hands on with.

Black Skirt Tetras are nigh on indestructible. Have 2 that even survived Piranha attack.

Any of the Rasboras are tough and resilient.

As Matty mentioned Danios are armor plated.

Some Gouramis - Blues and Dwarves are pretty tough too.

Thanks for the reply

I must admit I was looking for some pearl danios and perhaps scissor tails - would these be ok?

You mean scissor tail rasboras? Yep, rasboras are hardy, and so are the danios.

i wouldent go with guppies, but thats just me, they seem a little snsitive durring some times of the year i dont know why but u could try feeder gupps, they pretty and not expensive to replace, but thats if u want them, u could breed them too its not hard but u might want to let the first batches go first, heck a few may even survive the hungry adults

Pearl danios are extremely hardy. Give them a good sized school and a long tank, and enjoy. Just don't stare to long, their fast movements could make you sick.

My brother in law has a 20gal death camp. He couldn't keep any fish alive. I got fed up trying to educate him and got him some black-skirts and scissortails which even he hasn't managed to kill. He now thinks he's a master aquariast, not the brightest star in the sky :%)

My platies were very hardy and survived the cycling process even when I overfed.

No one mentioned white clouds. You could practically run one over with a truck and it'd live (DON'T do that-it's just an expression).

What size tank?
What's the water chemistry?

Here's some hardy, peaceful species:

Cory Cats
Danios/Minnows
Small Labyrinth Fish
Platies
Swordtails

Meh. It's a toss up on the cories. Some species can be real sticklers about water chemistry.
