How many neons and glowlights can fit in a ten g comfortably. I know they love to school and need to be in a group

Do you mean a school of neons and a school of glowlights
I'd say none, personally I would rather have you pick one of them and have that be your school. Especially if this is a starter tank I really wouldn't suggest pushing the tank to its limits.
10 gallon tanks, even in the hands of an experienced keeper can easily crash, killing or sickening all the fish.

That being said, if the tank is filtered properly, maintained properly, and planted you should easily get 10 or so neons in the tank. Might even be able to add a few bottom feeders such as small shrimp.

You can mix 2 schools in a bigger tank, but in a small tank like a 10g, its best to stick with one school. A proper school number is 6+ of one type. And in a 10g, you only have room for 6-8....so only room for one type.

Yeahhhh......

As a tip, do NOT do what the chain stores do. .

One chain store promotes a "mix and match" deal with schooling fish. 10 fish for $10 any one you want, with no mention to the fact that most all the fish they portray need to be in schools . That just goes to show they only care about the money.
Of course they can display bad stocking, cause then people will try it at home and just have to come buy more fish when they die, or lots of products to deal with the poor water conditions .

Stick with what we tell you here those LCPS have no clue about fish...

The thing is you can mix them, provided you
give enough individuals of each species in
a larger group, say 6 of each.
In a 10g tank, you dont really have room for
6 of each, or even 5 of each, which would be the
bare minimum for any schooling fish.
Choose which one you like better, pick 6 nice
individuals.
Then for your bottom, maybe you could get some ghost
shrimp or cherry shrimp or a bamboo shrimp or an african
dwarf frog or something.

Now, if you dont have the tank yet, you could probably
get a 15g for just a few bucks more, and then you
could easily put 6 each of the neons and glowlights
in there.
