Hey guys... I have had my 10 gallon up for about 3 (almost 4)weeks now.
There are 5 White Clouds helping the tank cycle.

I checked for ammonia the 3rd day... there was none... I checked it a week later, there was none, and i checked it yesterday.. and there was none. I'm pretty sure the test doesn't work.

Unless somehow I completly missed the Ammonia part of the cycle.

But what im getting at, is how far into the cycle do you think i am?

The tank has had 2 20% water changes since i put the fish in there. The tempature has been around 76 degrees the whole process.

Water changes while cycling is going to slow, and possibly stop the cycle all together. I would suggest against further water changes unless the fish are showing signs of stress. Do you not have tests for NitrIte and NitrAte? Without those tests it would be a little hard to know for sure.

Nitrite and especially nitrate tests are the only way to be sure the cycle has completed fully.

i figured that I would wait for a month or 2 then stock the tank.

If the cycle isnt done in 2 months.. there is something WAY wrong IMHO

Depending on how full you are going to stock that tank, the 5 White Clouds won't provide a full cycle. You only have 5 tiny fish, that produce little waste. So, the bacteria load will only build up to support those fish. If you add any more fish(even after 2 months) the tank will still go through a mini-cycle.

I am a fan of stocking slowly. I never like adding more than 2 or 3 fish at one time. And I wait 3 to 4 weeks before adding the next group. I have never checked water conditions in my tanks. But I also know that I have never lost a fish due to cycling. I also like using New Improved Cycle, just to feel more safe.

Are the White Clouds going to be part of your tank once complete? If they will be, how many do you want as a final total? If you are just using them to cycle the tank(and you don't care if a some die) them add another 5. Then wait another month, and stock the tank the way you want.
