	I tested my water and got...
Rob1619 Fish Addict Posts: 763 Kudos: 619 Votes: 626 Registered: 01-Sep-2004	My tank is new..it has now been 2 days with water 3 plants and a driftwood. this is the result of my test. PH test:8,0 Nitrite:0,2 Nitrate:0,2 Ammonia:0,0 I was just thinking that maybe this must be wrong..Ammonia 0,0? Maybe i should take some water to the lfs and he will test the water for me. I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

DoctorJ Big Fish Posts: 344 Kudos: 1159 Votes: 191 Registered: 13-May-2003	I've never doen the fishless cycling thing, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on here. Did you seed the tank with gravel or filter media from an established tank? If so, you're probably part of the way there. Otherwise, I understand that live plants can often carry nitrifying bacteria, so they can give the cycle a bit of a headstart. But those are odd results. I'd probably keep at it and keep monitoring over a week to see if there are any changes. At any rate, the cycle is not complete until the nitrites and ammonia are both at 0 and stay there for a few days.
