Amano shrimp may be up to the task, the other shrimps no. Of course no guaranty on the shrimp with gouramis and loaches in the tank. As for plants, you have lotsa of choices. Crypts, mosses, java ferns, limnophila's, hygrophilas and more ! As for gravel, can use river rock pea gravel to represent a stream or go for a different look and have a grassy rice paddy with bamboo sticks etc.... Lotsa options and further research will present more ideas. Enjoy and good luck ![]() The Amazon Nut... |

Fish include a betta coccina, sparkling gouramis, a honey gourami, cherry barbs, harlequin rasboras, and kuhliis. It's a very stocked tank but also very well planted. I don't even see many ghost shrimp around. Bumble bee gobies are brackish dude_dude, so I'd leave them off the list. A 20 gallon is a bit squishy for blue gouramis as well, especially as they are quite aggressive. But the rest of your fish sound great! I've had bettas that left them alone, and those that felt they were a fantastic snack ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |
