Hi Dogmai.... I just did a quick search using the word "moving' and lots of threads came up. Lots of forumites go away to college so this is asked a lot. And lots of people move house so we get adept at ensuring the health and survival of our little friends.

Do a search (link between "my profile" and "mailbox" and have a look at so me of those.

At a pinch I wiould say top tips are:
take as much water as possible
at the destination set up filter and gravel asap to ensure the survival of good bacteria

Must dash but am sure lots of people have extensive lists from experience....

Go down to your LFS and see if they have any styros. Move your fish in those. It is a bit less stressful on them than bags.

How long do you think it will take to move them from A to B? If it is only going to be a couple of days then I wouldn't feed them for a few days before the move or durning the move. If you don't feed them then they don't have any waste to pass and mess up their water.

As sujested by someone else, use a big bottle of cycle. I would also like to add Prime to the list of things to use. Use it both in the transport water with the fish and in the re-set up.

Keep the gravel wet it should hold some bacteria(i think).

Any other questions involved with this?

Styro will be a great help it'll keep the temp more consistant. If your LFS doesnt have the shipping boxes that the fish came in in the first place you can also get a cheap cooler from the store. The ones that people take to the beach ...

Another really usefull thing is the sleeping tablets that you can get from your LFS. They just knock the fish out for a bit and helps reduce a lot of the stress.

Make sure they're not fed the day they are bagged, I might even go for skipping a feeding the day before they're bagged. Less waste less ammonia .
Good luck

^_^
