Hey all,
I have a new 10G live planted tank with 3 neon tetras, 3 danios, 3 cory's and 2 Otocinclus. I am going to add 1-2 German Rams. What else would be a good possible addition to my tank

i would say nothing, u seem stocked well enough, maybe even a bit to much, just keep it how it is and see how the fish are behaving with each other.

a couple more fish would make it pretty cramped in that 10g.

also, danios and neons are schooling fish and should be kept in bigger groups then 3. I'd say about 6 or 7 to keep them happy.

Why not get rid of the otto's and add some more neons and danios ???? not to many though you still dont want to overstock your tank, danios like their room to swim around

First off, Welcome to fp

Secondly...cories, danios and neons def. need a school of 6 or more. The rams would not fit in with them, and the otos enjoy company as well. I'd fill out your cory school and add one more school, of either danios and neons...not both. Otherwise...that would be way overstocked. Your already pushing it. G/L...and HTH

Hi guntercl,
I just thought I'd warn you that those danios can get very nippy, especially when there's only three of them. I had four in a 20g and they were bothering everyone else so much I just took them back, rather than getting a few more to fill out the school. I just don't trust them, they're too nippy and stess out other fish, IMO.

I'd suggest dumping the danios and filling out the neon school. The more you have the better they look. Within reason obviously, given that it's only 10g.

Thanks for the advice but the center of my tank will be the Rams. The other occupants seem to be getting along very well. The only nipping being done is to me by my danios when I stick my hand in there. I don't think I will remove anyone just yet. I believe I will add the Rams and see what happens in a few weeks.
