Fish On The Brains   Hobbyist Posts: 141 Kudos: 126 Votes: 65 Registered: 04-Jan-2005    | I just got a new 10 gal. kit that came with a full hood and light fixture in-one. It supports 2 25W max. incadescent bulbs (currently has 2 15W). My question is, can I in place of the incadescents put 2 thread-in fluorescent bulbs? I changed the regular incandescent bulb in my 2.5 gallon minbow, to one of those spiral compact flourescents, with no problems, so I don't see why you should have any. -Formerly known as the Ferretfish  |

Look in your local hardware or home improvement store for "daylight" bulbs. You dont want "warm white" or "cool white". If you can find it a bulb with 6500K or 6700K will be the best for the plants. Will be heading back today to get the 10W bulb. Thanks for the help everyone |
