Totally about the fake plants, brighter colors that reflect greatly off the light. Maintenance is easier than opening a DVD...can never find the corner to peel that's on the outside LOL

I like fake plants simply because they are easy to keep, they don't die. Fake plants also help filter the water as there is a tremendous amount of space on them for beneficial bacteria to grow.

On the other hand live plants eat up nitrates. They also use up carbon dioxide and give oxygen when the lights are on, but at night they use Oxygen

17 years experience with freshwater.
