Stocking suggestions across 2 tanks | |
waldena Hobbyist Posts: 117 Kudos: 80 Votes: 71 Registered: 30-Jan-2006 | I currently have a 29G tank with the current stocking: 1 BN 4 C Sterbai 2 DG 11 Neon Tetras 5 Botia Sidthimunki 2 Kuhli's 6 Amano Shrimps I am looking at getting a 2nd tank in the next week or two, either an 18 or 21 gallon (unfortunately all I can afford and fit in my flat), so I was after some recommendations on stockings. Something to consider is that my Botia Sidthimunki have been getting quite boisterous. One of them has lost an eye through their fighting and at feeding times they can get aggressive towards the DG's. I have also seen the Cory's with nipped fins on occasion, and although I've never seen the loaches attacking them, they're the no 1 suspect. They'll even quite happily attack my finger if it goes in the tank. My thoughts are to move the Sidthimunki's and the BN (the only fish that they seem to be wary of) into the new second tank, and possibly add a school of small fish (the neons occasionally get chased a little, but are usually ignored and are too fast anyway). I could then increase the school of Cory's to 6 (at great expense!!). Any ideas/combinations/suggestions for the 2 tanks gratefully received. |

You could do up a stream-like tank with river rocks. I'd keep a bn in each tank for cleaning duties. Add 2 C sterbai to your 29g The Amazon Nut... |
