O, I missed that post.

Nothing will go wrong, at the moment. However, you will need a pond in the near future, or else you should return the fish. Just think of a koi as a goldfish on steroids.

ADF = African Dwarf Frogs. ADFs are very small, cute, and entertaining frogs. They only get up to 2 inches in length. They are one of the few species of fully aquatic frogs. This means that they never have to go on land. However, they do need air, so don't put them in a tank that is too high. Like I said before, ADFs are small. They can survive perfectly well in a tank as small as 1 gallon, but they do best in 2.5 gallon tanks. The best setup is 3 frogs, I male and 2 females. I have kept them for 2 years and they make very good pets. If you want more info, pm me.

Sorry about that, how rude of me.
Welcome

What kind of tank is in question. There are some very nice animals you could put with either of these fish. If you have a large enough betta tank, African Dwarf Frogs, ghost shrimp, and apple snails are good choices. However, the last two might become betta food.

If you have a big enough koi pond, then you could put turtles in there. Channel catfish are also good, big pond fish.

The betta could not kill the koi, as koi get to be over 100 times their size.

I know we have koi at work big enough to EAT a betta...

Why would you WANT to keep them together???

And oh, Welcome to FishProfiles btw

Ummm...no.

Koi get HUGE and need ponds upwards of 1000 gallons.

Bettas stay small, and like to live in smallish areas, of under 10 gallons.

Bettas don't like current, and although they can be kept in unheated bowls, they cannot tolerate the temperature range that koi can.

As for better betta tankmates...depending on the bettas personality/tank size, ADFs, ghost shrimpis, small cories, etc.

HTH...

no
A betta is a tropical fish, it needs warm water. A koi is a coldwater fish, it lives in outdoor ponds and such. Also, a koi needs a very, very large tank. Bettas prefer smaller tanks.
