Tank number 6 | |
Brengun Big Fish Posts: 355 Kudos: 187 Votes: 110 Registered: 22-Jun-2007 | Since the corys in tank 5 have decided to breed like rabbits (91 fry & 2 more lots eggs) I now have tank 6. It is 26ltrs or 6.8gal US and I have correct cory gravelsand, mulm from another tank, a sponge filter and am adding Seachem Stability daily to fastforward the cycle. There are 6 cory fry in there but I can't see them, only their tracks in the mulm. |

The mulm should have lots of goodies for the cories to eat, as it was vacc'd from the feeding area in the community tank. I will eventually take it out when I do a part wc. There are now 11 fry in there besides the glass shrimp baby. I can only see them if they move as they are the same color as the substrate. |

They are easier to see & can vacuum the leftover food quite easily. Take care when you clean the tank, so you don't suck up the fry. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Just remember, that the fry have to be free swimming, before adding the snails. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

The sponge filter was sitting on the sand and too high in the tank so I scratched away the sand from the corner and set the filter on the glass which did the trick. I also made a little depression in the sand through the middle of the tank for better filtration. I have discovered cory fry love little peaks and troughs in the sand. |
