I've got an empty tank sitting in my lounge room, and it's just begging me to do something with it.

It's 18 inches long, about 7 gallons/28L. I have a stand and gravel to go with it. It doesn't have a heater or filter because they went in the other tanks.

I don't really want to buy more equipment, and there isn't really anywhere to plug it in anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do with the tank?

I kind of want to do something "pretty" with it. Plants would be nice, but I don't have a light to go with the tank. I have one 2ft fluro and it already gets shared between my 4ft and 2ft tanks. I guess it could get shared between 3 tanks, but that might not be enough for decent plants.

Set it up with gravel, plastic plants, and some of those glass fish with a line and glass bubble attached, and let them float and move around at random. A virtual aquarium!
Or, you could make it a large terrarium, using low light plants that need humidity (ferns, jungle cactus, etc.), and have a micro rain forest. Eventually, you could add a little newt, anole, or fire bellied toad for some added interest.

I like the terrarium idea or one step up Paludarium! ...That's a terrarium that has more water that allows for a few water type species. Just would use @least a powerhead or pond pump to move some water .

Depending on the temp your house gets (and the swings) you might be able to do something like a betta or feeder guppies (hardier than show guppies) and just do regular water changes....

Small tanks like that are hard, I've got a 6 gallon tall hex on my kitchen island with MTS and some plants....no filter no heater, and only turn the light on every now and then ....I'll get around to doing something with it one of these days ..
