![]() | betta temps ? |
goldfisher![]() Hobbyist Posts: 96 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Aug-2004 ![]() ![]() | Dear fellow fish enthusiasts. I am a little confused as to whether bettas can be kept at room temp. I have read articles where they are kept happy at 70 - 80 "F (21 - 26 "C) which is room temperature here. My tank is 20wX35 in lengthX21 tall (14.7Litre/3.88gallon.). My local petshop ower has told me they can be kept at this temp but my tank my be a bit small. However articles that i have read told me again that they would be quite happy and healthy. Can anyone offer advise on this ? ![]() ![]() goldfisher ![]() |

I have goldfish at the moment and the water is at 15"C but bettas will not live in those conditions will they ? The cheapest i have seen heaters here are $33.00 and i cannot afford that. is there some alternative ? |

The heater was a good move ![]() ![]() |

Bettas CAN be kept at lower temperatures, but they PREFER to be kept at warmer temperatures. You'll likely see a happier, more actvie betta in a heated tank. |

Is yours a male or female? What does it look like? Any chance of a pic? (all these will help with name suggestions) I have 4 males and 3 females: Jim, named by my youngest son for his imaginary friend Randy, named after the city he was purchased in Tempo, he's the same color as my car (a Tempo of course ![]() Splash, he's a big mix of colors, my husband named him Strawberry, named by my oldest daughter Cerry, name comes from cerulean, my favorite color Lily, she's a small, delicate looking pink/yellow female Jewel, mix of dark jewel-tone colors ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |
