I have a 55 gallon aquarium. I recently bought the Aquaclear 500 power filter. Here is what is in my tank so far:

1 x Angelfish
3 x Bronze Cories
3 x Ottos

Here is what I am definatly going to add:

3 x Angelfish
3 x Bronze Cories
2 x Ottos

Here is my question: Do I need a centerpiece fish? If so, what would you suggest? I would like a Redtail Shark, I have already owned one and I love them!!

Also, should I or could I add another school of fish 6+? Something like Cherry Barbs or something of that size. If so, what would you suggest adding?? Thanks!!!!!

I'd say with the 4 angels, 6 cories, and 5 ottos, you have soom room for something else, but not much. I'd say either go with just the shark or just the 6 barbs. My suggestion would be to get the barbs. The shark could have an issue with the angels.

Your list sounds fine. I agree with T/A, you could add something else. Cherry barbs are one of the worst schoolers out there. I would suggest a school of tetras (something like black neons). Another idea is that since you have the bottom and middle areas covered, you could go with a school of hatchetfish for the top.

I agree with soluble. Black neons are both hardy amd visually appealing fish that would look great in a tank that size. A school of 10ish would look real nice (I'm suprised more people here don't keep them). On another note, if you plan on keeping hatchets, be aware that they are relatively short lived and jump...a lot.
