I'm nearly ready to set up this tank.

I'm planning on doing it like a South American River (for water conditions). I'm not having live plans yet as I'm not that brave (but there will be a couple of moss balls).

At the back will be built up with caves & things & fake plants (not plastic the ones that are material & look real). The front will be more open plan - few low rocks etc.

This is my proposed fish list - let me know what you think or just any advice on such a large tank would be great.

5 x red rainbowfish
2 x black ghost knifefish
3 x yellowbelly cichlids (1m 2f)
4 x dolphin cichlids (3f 1m)

would I have room also for

4 x blue neon rainbowfish (3f 1m)
some guppies

The tank is 66 inches long & 24 inches wide & 32 deep.

Thanks again for any advice.

I think the only thing that I'm noticing is that the dolphin cichlids prefer their water conditions to be a little different than those of the other fish. The dolphins prefer hard alkaline water while most of the others prefer either neutral or soft water. I might look to see if there was something else I could substitute in there for them that would be able to match your water conditions better...

For a 120? Nah, I don't think you'd be overstocked...just the stuff I mentioned earlier about the water conditions would be the only thing I'd consider...

Rainbows are schooling, so you should have at least 6. BGKS are territorial, so I'd go with only one. I'm not sure what yellow-belly cichlids are, so maybe you could give us a scientific name?

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

I agree with Iltat. I think you need to reconsider the dolphin cichlids. Also I believe that BGKs should really be kept singly.

Otherwise, it sounds quite good!
