![]() | set up my 10g - beta and danios? |
phoenix5724![]() Hobbyist Posts: 87 Kudos: 66 Votes: 0 Registered: 17-May-2005 ![]() | I have my beta in a small 5 gallon tank but I just got a ten gallon and set it up with a heater (50w) and filter (tetra whisper). THe filter is a drop in and is fairly gawdy in the tank but this is just going to be my small tank....probably the home to my beta as he's old and has survived alot and deserves a better place. Now my question is....can i put danios or anything else small in the tank too? how about an algae eater? The heater probalby isn't necessary for the beta himself but i should probably still use it correct? Will putting the beta in a heated tank after having him in a not heated one for so long harm him? Thank you. Adam |

Danios are the only fish my bettas have had problems with. They don't like them zipping past them and lash out at them quite frequently. Otos are the only algae eaters that are suitable for a ten gallon tank. The others get up to 12" Kim |

I think he deserves some peace & quite, after reading your post that he deserves a better place, as he's old. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

Cherry barbs are peaceful, so they won't nip your betta, plus they're not that fast at swimming etc. So they won't annoy him either. ![]() ![]() |

But he still looks a little lonely. Maybe I should put some more plants in there or something. I like the japanese like theme of the beta and bonsai. peaceful. |
